One sunny day, on a very nice farm lived a mean old farmer and his
stupid chicken. The farmer did not like the chicken and the chicken did
not like him either, so the farmer made a plan.
He said to himself, "I’m going to kill that chicken and eat it. The
chicken will never find out what I’m going to do."
He was wrong. The chicken over heard what he said.
"I have got to stop him or else I will die and I don’t want that to
happen," thought the chicken.
The next day the farmer went hunting for the chicken. He went in the
dark smelly barn where the chicken was sleeping. The chicken wasn’t
really sleeping, he was faking it. When the farmer got ready to hunt the
chicken, the chicken jumped up and ran out of the old brown barn. The
farmer ran after him. He ran as quickly as possible but he couldn’t
catch the chicken. The chicken ran so fast that he didn’t see a pointy
twig in his way, and tripped over it and cut his little yellow leg. The
farmer was almost to the chicken but he was too tired to take a few more
steps.
The chicken told himself, "If I’m going to live I have to fight for
my life."
The chicken limped and limped until he couldn’t limp any more. Mean
while the farmer was still back there – he was way back there.
"I’ve got to get that chicken before it runs away."
The chicken kept on limping on his little leg while blood ran down
and painted it a light red. The chicken was almost out of the farm. He
was very close. He kept on moving his tiny legs. Finally, he got out of
the farm and walked along the road.
There was a nice vet driving on the road minding his own business
when he saw the chicken hurt on the ground crying. He quickly got out of
his car, picked up the chicken and took it home and fixed him up. He
thought the chicken was so marvelous that he adopted him.
